Garnering both the Grand Prize in the Concours OSM and the first prize in the CMC Stepping Stone competition in 2018, Canadian pianist Carter Johnson is quickly establishing a reputation as one of his generation’s most gifted and multi-faceted pianists. His competition portfolio includes first prize at the International Competition of Polish Music, Valsesia International Competition, as well as Santander International Competition, the Shenzhen International Concerto Competition, the Horowitz International Competition Kyiv-Geneva, the Dublin International Competition, and more.
Johnson has performed with orchestras including l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, l’Orchestre Métropolitain, and the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, and his playing has been broadcasted by CBC Radio and medici.tv.
A graduate of Juilliard, Carter is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Yale School of Music. Residing in Hamden, Connecticut with his wife and two sons, Johnson maintains a busy schedule as a concert artist, student, and teacher.
