Aurés Moussong, a Mexican-born composer, earned his music composition degree in 2012 in Mexico City. He furthered his studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the University of Arts in Berlin gaining recognition with the Mexico's National Endowment for Culture and Arts (FONCA) grant and multiple performances at national music festivals. In 2021, he won the Ibermúsicas competition, and the following year, he was commissioned for a brass orchestra work. Moussong also achieved recognition in China and Italy, securing first prizes in composition contests. In 2023, he received top honors from the Hungarian Composers Association and Winds of Central Europe. Holding the prestigious National Creators System grant, Aurés is currently a Fellow with OAcademy's Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio. He resides in France, and is pursuing a postgraduate specialization at the Strasbourg Conservatory.
Recently, his work Krakatoa Paroxysm for wind orchestra and percussion was published by Murphy Press Music.
